Some Review of the extension

Simpler than TamperMonkey, yet robust and efficient, MeddleMonkey lets me run userscripts – javascript that I want to add to certain websites and pages every time they load. It uses standard GreaseMonkey UserScript headers (plenty of documentation and examples are online), and also supports things like GM_SetValue etc, which I find very helpful. I prefer to use it by hosting my scripts on dropbox with a @downloadURL to each; bumping the version number and clicking update in the MeddleMonkey page works a treat for instant changes, but otherwise it updates every day. Having used a succession of UserScript managers (Custom Javascript, Custom JavaScript 2, TamperMonkey, ViolentMonkey), and this is the first UserScript manager I’ve felt confident to use to provide features to my colleagues on an ongoing basis, because installation, setup and maintenance are straightforward – I can push updates overnight without them having to do anything. They just need to install MeddleMonkey, click two links I send them, and confirm the installation. Great extension. Thank you very very much.

Michael Fudge is an instructor with many how-to videos on coding in Java. I enjoy his YouTube channel very much. Even though he published most of his Java stuff back in 2013 it’s still very useful. These videos make the tools used in developing software more understandable to me because he uses common language with metaphors and simple exercises. If MeddleMonkey didn’t exists and I had to view Michael’s videos with YouTube while trying to right code on a small 15″ screen then I couldn’t do it. I use MeddleMonkey to download everything I need and then view it with VLC media player at any scale, any place and at any time I want. I don’t know how this works, but thank you MeddleMonkey!
